Bobs for Good raises R 19 450 at 221 Waterfront

PRESS RELEASE
10 June 2011
Good Food, Great Wine, Giving Hearts.
The Society Charity Dinner was held at the premium Cape Town restaurant, 221 Waterfront on Thursday evening 9th June 2011. Guests were welcomed and spoiled by Sure Pure wine for the evening. A delicious 3 course dinner was served which warmed the hearts of the guests and lead to a successful night of giving.
The intimate evening delivered a hype of laughter as Paul Snodgrass entertained the guests and gave away some fabulous prizes which were sponsored by Puma and Sunglass Hut. The main feature of the dinner was the auction where all proceeds went towards The Bobs for Good Foundation. Guests challenged each other to get their hands on the luxury items that were up for grabs and the evening raised a whopping nineteen thousand four hundred and fifty rand (R19 450.00)
In South Africa today, there are over 7 million children who have never owned or worn a pair of school shoes. The Bobs for Good Foundation is a South African public beneficiary organization, born out of the need to restore dignity and pride to South Africa’s neediest learners by giving them the gift of hope –a pair of quality, leather, and locally-made school shoes to care for and call their own.

On The Ball Communications and Exclusive Marketing through the Society Charity Dinner were able to raise enough to give 194 school kids the gift of hope, pride and dignity. The handover of school shoes will take place during the months of August and September where the Miss Earth finalists will accompany On The Ball Communications and Exclusive Marketing at this philanthropic event.

Dear Werner and the 221 team,

Vanessa and I would like to say a thank-you for being a part of our first Society Charity Dinner.

Thursday night was a success and we were able to raise R19,450 for the foundation through our auction, this translates to roughly 194 pairs of school shoes. The Foundation will be doing a school shoe drop in late August. Your team were as usual on time and incredibly professional.

I have attached a letter from The Bob’s for Good Foundation which I’d like to share with you. On the night we did have 1 or 2 hiccups but your staff dealt with them efficiently and everyone left very happy. It really was a pleasure to work with you and hopefully we can bring you more events in the future.

Thanks again for your support in helping make our first Society Charity Dinner a success.

Kind Regards,

Jenna-Leigh Schnell
